Home Invaded at Gunpoint

Saturday night a home on Canal Road on the San Pasqual Indian Reservation was allegedly invaded by several Hispanic males who walked in and ended up holding one man at gunpoint while ransacking the home.

The incident occurred at 6:10 pm at 27446 S. Canal Road, San Pasqual Indian Reservation, Valley Center.

According to VC Sheriff's Sgt. Bob Bishop, rhe victim was waiting by her open front door for some friends to arrive. Three Hispanic male suspects in their 20’s drove up to the address and walked into the residence through the open door.

The victim confronted the suspects and verbally engaged them. The victim’s husband, hearing his wife yelling at the suspects, moved into the room and confronted them. A subsequent fight ensued whereupon the husband was subdued and forced to the floor and held at gunpoint.

While the victims were held in the living room by one of the suspects, the other two suspects ransacked the house, collecting jewelry and prescription drugs. The female victim sustained minor injuries when one of the suspects punchedher in the face. The husband indicated he may have recognized two of the suspects.

During the robbery, the victim’s adult on and daughter-in-law who live at the residence were able to escape from the home and call the Sheriff’s Department.
Suspect number one is described as a Hispanic male in his mid-twenties, six feet tall with a heavy build. Suspect number two is described as a Hispanic male in his early-twenties, five feet nine inches tall with a medium build. Suspect number
three is described as a Hispanic male in his early-twenties, five feet nine inches tall with a slight build.

The weapon used was a small caliber blue steel colored automatic handgun.

Post Office Driver in Accident

A post office contract driver who serves Palomar Mountain was involved in a car accident this morning. The driver, Terrill Burdick, according to our sources, was sent to Palomar Medical Center after his vehicle went off the road on Hwy 76 a couple of miles east of Valley Center Road. Burdick picks up mail at the Palomar Mountain post office and other offices.

Burdick is a director with the Valley Center Chamber of Commerce and owns Freedom Now Promotions. We will update our readers on his condition as it becomes known.
