Yes! Terry's Hay & Grain is open! Joe, Andy, and the whole crew are doing fine. There is a lot of hay (the hay truck was allowed access), and they have resumed some deliveries. 749-9328 Jenny says they plan to be open till at least 6:00pm today.
How is it that the postoffice, Terry's Hay, etc are open when there is mandatory evacuation of the whole town? Who decides they can be there and I can't go home? This is a scary side of reverse 911. Even in Ramona where there is damage to services, power lines, etc. people are saying next time they won't evacuate.
Anonymous (2:39 pm)- We didn't leave. That's how we are here. We stayed through 2003, and this time. Both times with the car and kids packed up ready to split... but we stayed. We were aware of the "lock-out" possibility, and placed our bet. We drove a fire watch every 3 hours, have high-pressure 2 inch water lines, and are able-bodied. VC was a country town, and we are country people. We stayed, that's why we're here. I wish you the best at getting back in, which I'm reading (Thanks to Dave!!!) is now underway.
