Early in the morning on Tuesday Palomar Mountain was evacuated. Your editor spent a wild ride getting off the mountain to the newspaper office.
The fire has moved onto the La Jolla Indian reservation and is perhaps a quarter of a mile from jumping over Hwy 76 onto Palomar Mountain. Valley Center Road east through Rincon is being closed by CalFire.
Parts of Valley Center in the path of the fire have also received reverse 911 calls. The evacuation center is still Valley Center High School.
We will probably be evacuating the Roadrunner office soon, so any posts I make from now on will be from on the road and via this blog.

Thank you for this site. It is so hard to find any info on Valley Center. We just moved from Tierrasanta to Woods Valley in Valley Center 3 weeks ago. Do you have any info for the Woods Valley development? We live at the east end of the development.
Thank you,
Erik
Our thoughts are with all of you! Stay safe.

Tuesday, 12:15 PM. Fire has burned up to Yellow Brick Road area from Rincon. Fire authorities have set up a defense line and appear to have stopped the fire's Westward advance.
Whether this prevents the fire entering Valley Center remains to be seen as the wind plays such an integral part in this event.
Erik:
I have been blogging on sign on san diego as well. There are some helpful people on there as well.
I also live in the wood's valley development, have not heard anything, left this morning about 7am.
